Résumé

FR

The thesis study focuses on an essential subject that is vital for Pacific Island Countries (PICs) who are experiencing the effects of catastrophic climate change. The thesis will concentrate on 2-3 coastal villages in Fiji that have been designated by the national climate change division as being at danger of relocation owing to coastal erosion and submersion. Fijian coastal villages vulnerable to ocean submersion and coastal erosion must develop comprehensive adaptation measures immediately. This thesis intends to provide research insights for adaptation decision making on chosen coastal areas using a transdisciplinary approach. The researcher will employ physical measurements, models for hydrodynamics and shoreline, and local community interaction and involvement throughout the study.
