The aim of the PhD project will be first to build and test (i.e. compare to experimental results) a large database of diffraction peaks simulated for various cases. This includes: generation of microstructures, FFT-based simulation of plasticity and microstructural evolution, and generation of the corresponding diffraction peaks. Different methods of automatic analysis such as pattern recognition by neural networks will then be tested, first on the simulated database, then on experimental diffraction peaks.
