FOLLOWING THE UNEXPECTED OBSERVATION OF A LARGE RASHBA EFFECT IN THE 2D SYSTEM BANIS2, DRIVEN BY A LARGE STAGGERED ELECTRIC FIELD RATHER THAN BY LARGE Z-VALUES, WE PLAN TO STUDY HIGH-QUALITY SINGLE CRYSTALS WHERE THE HIDDEN SPIN POLARIZATION ARISING FROM THE RASHBA-SPLIT BANDS WILL BE TUNED BY MEANS OF ELECTRONIC DOPINGOR HIGH PRESSURE. THIS SHOULD ALLOW US TO OBSERVE DIRECTLY AN INTRINSIC SPIN HALL EFFECT IN AD HOC MESOSCOPIC STRUCTURES, WHERE THE LIMITED SIZE ENSURES BALLISTIC TRANSPORT.
