Résumé
Like most of his interpeters, we have been convinced, by reading eric weil, that his whole work is dominated by a constant preoccupation with the question of the meaning of existence. Through this conviction, we have tried to understand the unity of his three main texts : logique de la philosophie, philosophie politique and philosophie morale. We came to the conclusion that philosophie politique is his central work, providing a link between all his fundamental writings. But, this conclusion is linked to the very nature of the question of the meaning of existence. Indeed, if meaning is what allows us to want to live, what gives us a reason for living, it seems clear that it is only through the relation to the other, in the area of communal existence that it can be experienced. Therefore, the man who cares for meaning, the philosopher, has as a duty to reveal the basic structures of the experience of meaning; in other words, to work out a political philosophy. So by bringing out the question of the meaning of existence as the main question of philosophy, eric weil's work enables us to think a fulfilment of philosophy in political philosophy.
