This research will investigate on the teachers' initial training in distance methodology in Colombia in the period of 1999-2011. To this respect, its general aim is orientated in two directions: the first one, to analyze the evolution of the pedagogical media and mediations, and the pedagogic practices in distance teachers' initial training programs of four Colombian leading universities in this methodology; and the second one, to identify the framework of reference to teachers' initial training at distance in agreement with the requirements of the current socio-historical moment. To achieve the previous intentions two research questions are proposed: 1) which has been the evolution of the pedagogic media and mediations, and the pedagogic practices in teachers' initial training programs at distance in Colombia during the period 1999-2011?; and, 2) what characteristics adopt a framework of reference to teachers' initial training programs at distance according to the requirements of the current socio-historical moment where the technologies of the information and communication play a preponderant role? This research is framed in the interpretive paradigm, it will assume a qualitative approach, and will implement the methodology of study of multiple case study.
