Résumé

This work aims to provide a better understanding of the low pressure discharge lamps. We will interest particularly in low pressure discharge filled with pure rare gas only : neon, argon and xenon. We have developed a collisionnal radiative model based mainly on the system formed by the balance equations of particles densities and the balance equation of energy. By solving this system we can then calculates the basic parameters that describe the positive column. In this model, we choose a simplified atomic structure for the emitting atom. That means, we describe the atom with the first fourteen energy levels. Another hypothesis is that we have supposed an infinite positive column in order to avoid electrodes phenoma’s problems. The different parameters describing the plasma are shown when changing dimensions of the tube, the nature of the filling gas and the electrical input parameters. We can then deduce the optimal operating conditions for the low pressure mercury less discharge lamps
