The research is limited to the "book of the passion", known as "Ktobo dhacho", printed in Lebanon in 1902 and the only Syria edition of this office. The study is divided into three books. The first one treats of the printed and manuscript tradition of this office, of its structure and its general progress, as well as of the main patterns of each day of holy week. The second book deals with the literal translation of the whole part of the office that is in prose, and especially the "sedre" which form the biblical and theological core of the passion. Explanatory notes are joined to this translation in order to clarify the syriac text. Lastly, the third book is the presentation of the syriac text of the office which has been used for our study.
